As the 19th century progressed, advances in aniline dye manufacturing processes expanded the color palettes available, and beautifully pieced and appliqued quilts continued to be made, using the extra fabric choices available.(It’s a much richer black than shown in the photo).When you are not using this shawl as a drape on the way to the theater, it could be used as a banquet tablecloth in your dining room.Now that Betsey has professionally hand washed it, it is known as unused, which means never used but washed.Please view the detail photos (click image above) for more accurate colors.
